How Much Do Movers Cost in Memphis?
Most moving companies make you call before they will tell you a single number. We think you deserve better than that. Here is exactly what Big League Movers charges, published for everyone to see, with no hidden fees and no surprises on move day.
The Short Answer
Local moves in the Memphis area are billed hourly, starting at $225 per hour for a two person crew and one truck, plus a flat $175 per truck service fee that covers fuel and equipment. There is a two hour minimum on all jobs.
Long distance and interstate moves typically range from $3,000 to $10,000+ depending on the size of your home, the distance, and the services you need. We offer a free survey that gives you an exact, binding flat rate before you commit.
Why We Publish Our Prices
Moving is stressful enough without wondering whether the bill will match the estimate. Big League Movers has been moving Memphis families and businesses for over 16 years, and in that time we have never canceled a move. That reliability starts with honesty about cost. The rates below are the same rates our team quotes over the phone, and every quote is confirmed in writing before move day.
Your exact price depends on how long your move takes, which is driven by the size of your home, access conditions, and the services you request. That is why every rate on this page comes with a free, no obligation survey. We look at what you are moving, recommend the right crew and truck count, and give you a realistic picture before anyone lifts a box.
Hourly Rates by Crew Size
Local moves are billed by the hour based on your crew and truck configuration. Weekday rates run Monday through Thursday. Friday, weekend, and summer dates run at the higher end of each range.

What the Service Fee Covers
The flat $175 per truck fee covers your truck, fuel, and equipment. We do not charge a separate fuel surcharge, ever. Fuel is built into that one flat fee so every cost is visible up front.
Things We Never Charge Extra For
Stairs & Elevators
Factored into your hourly labor estimate, never billed as a separate line item.
Long Carries & Steep Driveways
Tough access is our problem to plan for, not a surcharge on your invoice.
Additional Stops
Extra stops on local moves are built into the labor estimate. On interstate moves they are built into your flat rate.
Fuel
Covered by the flat truck and equipment fee. No fluctuating fuel surcharges.
If a shuttle truck is required to reach your home, shuttle service is $125 per shuttle. Waiting time, when it applies, is billed at $355 per hour. Guaranteed pickup windows are 8am-10am and 11am-4pm.

|---|---|---|
| Released value (basic coverage) | $0.60/lb | The federally mandated baseline, included on every move. |

| Interstate full value protection ($250 or $500 deductible) | $10 per $1,000 declared | $50 minimum. |
Tennessee does not require movers to offer coverage beyond the federal baseline. We offer full value protection anyway, because a real number beats fine print.
